Mixed Breed · Male

mixed breed * 2023 – brown – male – unneutered – medium – ca. 13 kg compatible with children: yes compatible with cats: yes suitable as a second dog: yes in the animal shelter since: 12/2025 Hello, I am Ole, I am a two-year-old male mixed-breed dog and a young, active dog who explores his environment curiously and thoroughly outdoors. On walks, I walk well on a leash, am approachable, and am certainly up for friendly interactions and play. I am spirited, playful, and enjoy movement and mental stimulation. In some situations, especially with loud noises, I can react a bit insecurely. Here, a calm, confident presence can help me orient myself. I know pretty well what I want, and patience is not one of my strongest traits. Resources that are important to me, I don’t necessarily want to share, so clear, cautious, and consistent management is necessary in dealing with me. With clear rules, structure, and consistent, fair guidance, I can learn to handle such situations better. For my new home, I am looking for people with dog experience who appreciate my active nature, take my boundaries seriously, and are ready to work with me responsibly. Then, I bring good prerequisites to further develop into a reliable companion. If you are interested in getting to know me and showing me with patience and clarity what our shared daily life can look like, I look forward to your visit. About Ole

What life with Ole looks like

Ole is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Göppingen in Göppingen.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ole, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ole?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Göppingen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ole on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ole if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Göppingen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ole already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ole isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Göppingen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ole and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
