Olive is a 5 / 6 year old collie who came to us once she completed her stray-hold time after being found wandering by herself in West Cork. We have no history on this lovely dog, although we suspect she didn’t receive all the love she deserved. We intend on changing that now! Olive shares a kennel with another dog here in our centre, but she is fairly indifferent to other dogs. She is ALL about the person! She wants to follow you around, stare up at you adoringly, lie at your feet while you are on the computer… Olive has a bit to learn when it comes to lead-walking. She is entirely dependable off lead, she is right with you, but we don’t think she was ever on a lead before. So she can get herself a bit wrapped up in the lead as she walks next to and around you! She will learn – she is clever and dying to please! We don’t know what Olive is like with cats. We imagine she is also indifferent to them, so as long as any cats in the home are dog-savvy we would be fine to give it a go! We doubt Olive has lived within a home before, owners will need to put a bit of time into house-training and settling her into living in a home. Depending on the location of the home and also on leaving hours, a secure garden may not be essential.
