adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Olive has found her home! Her story: Tiny, charming, and full of joy: that's our Olive! The little female dog was found together with her siblings Momo, Barney, and Leo all alone – deserted, but fortunately discovered in time. Now she lives in a loving foster home in Cluj, where she takes her first steps into a new life. With her soft beige fur, gentle brown eyes, and cute expression, Olive not only melts hearts but also shows how much joy and curiosity can be found in such a small puppy. She is open, friendly, playful – simply a typical puppy who dives into everything new with full enthusiasm. Olive currently only knows the protected framework of the foster home. Life in a family, with all its routines, sounds, and demands, will be a big adjustment for her. Even though she has already learned a few things with her foster family, Olive must still learn the entire puppy ABC in her new home. House training, leash walking, being alone, car rides – all of this is still not part of her everyday life. Whoever takes Olive into their home should be ready to guide her lovingly, patiently, and consistently through this exciting early phase. In a few months, Olive will start her famous puberty – a time when little puppy girls suddenly develop their own minds and rediscover the world all over again. This is completely normal but can also be quite challenging. Olive needs people who set loving boundaries, stay calm, and say with a smile, "Everything will be okay, we'll get through this together." Olive is a dog who not only wants to be physically but also mentally stimulated. She looks forward to long walks, exciting sniffing games, playful training sessions, and shared adventures. Attending a positively working dog training class would be a great way to further stimulate her and strengthen the bond between dog and human. Olive travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated to her new home. She brings her EU pet passport and will be accompanied by a positive review. A foster home would also be a valuable step on her way to happiness. Who will give this wonderful little female dog a home with heart, mind, and a free sofa spot? Many thanks to Lisa! You named Olive! Date: 08.06.

Vielen Dank an Lisa! Du hast Olive ihren Namen geschenkt! Stand: 08.06.2025

About Olive

What life with Olive looks like

Olive is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Olive, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Olive?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Olive on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Olive if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Olive already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Olive isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Olive and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
