Oliver, ca. 2018, male, white/gray-striped, indoor cat with secured balcony or terrace, looking for a home! Oliver is a sweet and very affectionate cat who, despite his health issues, just wants to be loved and deserves a quiet home. A scruffy, slim cat with a weeping eye appeared at a playground at the start of the holidays. We took him in and asked the neighborhood if anyone knew him - unfortunately, no one did. We also posted flyers and put up notices at the shelter and on Facebook, but no owner came forward. The approximately 8-year-old Oliver is a very sweet, tame and very affectionate cat. He was already neutered and has since been microchipped. Since Oliver is obviously unwell, he was examined by a vet. Unfortunately, the blood test revealed a sad diagnosis: Oliver is FIV-positive (feline AIDS), FeLV-negative. He also had worms and diarrhea due to Giardia, which were treated. Due to his FIV infection and chronic runny nose, vaccination is currently being avoided. With good food, plenty of rest and loving grooming, Oliver's external condition has improved significantly. The inflammation in his eye has also decreased with treatment with an eye ointment. However, it is assumed that the eye problem will probably remain chronic. The runny nose is also chronic. Oliver is now looking for a quiet home where he can finally relax and enjoy his twilight years. Due to his FIV infection, he should no longer have unsecured outdoor access. He could imagine a quiet home with indoor cat enclosure or secured terrace. Since Oliver is very social and compatible, he could imagine a fellow FIV-positive animal - ideally another FIV-positive animal. If you want to give Oliver a loving home despite his health issues, you are welcome to meet him at his foster home in Gerolzhofen. Adopt, don't shop! Wohnungshaltung mit gesichertem Balkon o. Terrasse Oliver ist ein lieber und besonders verschmuster Kater, der trotz seiner gesundheitlichen Baustellen einfach nur geliebt werden möchte und ein ruhiges Zuhause verdient hat. Pünktlich zu Ferienbeginn ist ein ungepflegt wirkender, schlanker Kater mit einem nässenden Auge an einem Spielplatz aufgetaucht. Wir haben ihn eingesammelt und in der Nachbarschaft gefragt, ob ihn jemand kennt – leider ohne Erfolg. Auch über aufgehängte Zettel sowie Meldungen im Tierheim und auf Facebook ließ sich kein Besitzer finden. Der etwa 8-jährige Oliver ist ein ganz lieber, zahmer und sehr verschmuster Kater . Er war zwar bereits kastriert und wurde mittlerweile auch gechippt. Da Oliver offensichtlich gesundheitlich angeschlagen war, wurde er tierärztlich untersucht. Das Blutergebnis brachte leider eine traurige Diagnose: Oliver ist FIV-positiv (Katzenaids), FeLV-negativ . Außerdem hatte er Würmer und Durchfall aufgrund von Giardien , die behandelt wurden. Aufgrund seiner FIV-Erkrankung und seines chronischen Schnupfengeschehens wurde von einer Impfung derzeit abgesehen. Mit gutem Futter, viel Ruhe und liebevoller Fellpflege hat sich Olivers äußerer Zustand inzwischen deutlich verbessert . Auch die Entzündung an seinem Auge ist durch die Behandlung mit einer Augensalbe zurückgegangen. Aufgrund seiner Diagnose ist jedoch davon auszugehen, dass das Augenproblem vermutlich chronisch bleiben wird. Auch der Schnupfen ist chronisch . Oliver sucht nun ein ruhiges Zuhause , in dem er endlich zur Ruhe kommen und seinen Lebensabend genießen darf. Aufgrund seiner FIV-Erkrankung sollte er keinen ungesicherten Freigang mehr bekommen. Vorstellbar wäre für ihn ein ruhiges Zuhause in Wohnungshaltung mit gesichertem Balkon oder gesicherter Terrasse . Da Oliver sehr sozial und verträglich ist, könnte er sich auch einen Artgenossen vorstellen – idealerweise ein weiteres FIV-positives Tier .
