adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Oliver has found a home! His story: Oliver – a cuddly little flauschbär (fluffy bear) kitten looks for a new home. The little Oliver is an approximately 4-month-old tomcat, full of love, playfulness, and curiosity. He is very clingy, loves playing and being the center of attention, but just as much enjoys cuddles. He is very social with other cats, which is why he is not rehomed in single-cat households. If no cat is waiting in the new home, he can also bring a friend. He is also compatible with dogs. As he has never lived outdoors, he is only rehomed as an apartment cat (preferably with a secure balcony). Oliver is waiting for a loving family that can offer him care, security, and affection. If you can provide all of that for the sweet treasure, we look forward to your contact. For travel arrangements, Oliver, like all our cats and tomcats, is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas, and is also tested for FIV and FeLV. He will also carry an EU pet passport in his travel bag.

About Oliver

What life with Oliver looks like

Oliver is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oliver, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oliver?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oliver on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oliver if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oliver already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oliver isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oliver and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
