Adopt Olly - Wuschelbär mit Power

Male · Adult · 4 years

Olly has been with us at our shelter since February 2026. He is highly predatory and knows basic commands—leash-trained with clear communication—gets along with cats—not with small pets—wishes for an apartment with a garden—needs physical and mental stimulation—suitable for allergy sufferers—gets along well with female dogs—steady, older children are okay. Olly is with us because his owner sadly passed away. He is a cheerful and friendly fellow who loves people more than anything. He adores cuddles and will do anything for treats. Olly hasn't enjoyed training much, so we've started with basic commands and leash training. Olly thinks a bit slowly and has a short attention span—but everything is going well so far. In the new home, there should be plenty of enthusiasm and time to continue working with Olly. Olly wants to be physically and mentally stimulated. As a German Longhair, he has a lot of energy that needs to be directed properly. Mantrailing or other scent work where he can use his nose would be ideal for him. Olly gets along well with female dogs—he is, however, quite forward and needs to learn a bit of polite distance. With male dogs, it depends on their relationship. He takes good direction from his people in dog interactions. Due to his size and energy, Olly can only be rehomed in an apartment with garden access (fenced in). In his previous home, Olly lived with his cat friend Nuri, but due to his breed, he is extremely predatory and should not live with other small pets. Steady, older children can be considered in his new life. If Olly has caught your interest, please feel free to contact us by phone or email. Olly looks forward to meeting you!. Gets along with other dogs.

Frequently asked

Adopting Olly - Wuschelbär mit Power, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Olly - Wuschelbär mit Power?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Oldenburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Olly - Wuschelbär mit Power on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Olly - Wuschelbär mit Power if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Oldenburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Olly - Wuschelbär mit Power already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Olly - Wuschelbär mit Power isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Oldenburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Olly - Wuschelbär mit Power and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
