Adopt Ona

Labrador Retriever · Female

Ona ID-Nr: 1051836 Breed: Labrador-Pointer-Mix Age: *ca. 01/2026 Gender: female Height: still growing Neutered/Sterilized: No Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry Form Ona – a clever, active young female puppy finally seeks her Forever Home The beautiful Ona (*ca. 01/2026) is a young mixed-breed female dog, likely with Border Collie, Labrador, and perhaps Pointer in her background. She brings not only a lovely appearance but also a lot of energy, intelligence, and joy to life. Unfortunately, Ona has already had to change homes multiple times in her short life. First, she was adopted by a woman who couldn’t keep her. Then, she went to a trial family, but it was found that a calm, adult dog would better fit their everyday life. Now, Ona is once again on the search – this time for her permanent home, one she never has to leave. Ona is a lively, active young female dog who is age- and breed-typically active and needs mental stimulation. She wants to learn, explore, and experience the world with her people. For her, we are looking for a home with active people with dog experience who enjoy training and shared mental stimulation. Ona would especially be happy with people who have a passion for nose work, agility, obedience, long hikes, or other shared activities. Search or rescue work could also be a good fit for her. She currently lives with children and shows them a friendly side. She also knows cats, though these currently make her a bit nervous, so we are currently looking for a cat-free home. Ona is not a female dog for a quiet couch potato life – she seeks people who appreciate her intelligence and active nature and who want to challenge her both physically and mentally. At the same time, she brings incredible potential and will surely grow into a wonderful companion with the right people. Ona is vaccinated, microchipped, and has an EU pet passport. For travel arrangements, she has been tested for Mediterranean diseases and dewormed and treated for fleas. Vaccinations: Yes Mediterranean Check: Yes Microchip: No Known Illnesses: None including transport Contact: Annika Beger Tel: Email:.

Impfungen Ja Mittelmeercheck Ja Microchip Nein Krankheiten keine bekannt Schutzgebühr 500 € inkl. Transport Ansprechpartner Annika Beger Tel: Email: Anfrageformular

About Ona

What life with Ona looks like

Ona is a adult labrador retriever dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ona, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ona?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ona on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ona if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ona already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ona isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ona and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
