O'Neil

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Today we're talking about O'Neil! At 3 years old, O'Neil is a magnificent Weimar hound and braque cross who leaves no one indifferent. A truly incredible, affectionate, and overflowing-with-love little guy. O'Neil adores humans. Whether young or old, male or female, everyone gets their share of tenderness and cuddles. He's a dog very close to humans, endearing, and always ready to share beautiful moments with those he loves. He's looking for an active family willing to offer him the physical and mental exercise he needs every day. Walks, discoveries, games, and outings will be essential to his balance and well-being. He already has good educational foundations that will need to be continued with kindness. As for other animals of the same species, Oneil has his affinities. Compatibility will therefore need to be assessed on a case-by-case basis. If another dog adoption is being considered, a well-coded, stable, and at-ease canine companion will be necessary. Oneil has been tested with cats and unfortunately cannot live with them. Today, Oneil is waiting most of all for a family ready to open their hearts to him, dedicate time to him, and share beautiful adventures with him. O'Neil is a deeply endearing little guy who truly deserves to finally find his forever family.

Concernant les congénères Oneil a ses affinités. Les ententes seront donc à voir au cas par cas. Si une adoption avec un autre chien est envisagée, il faudra un compagnon bien codé, stable et à l'aise dans sa communication canine. About O'Neil

What life with O'Neil looks like

O'Neil is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Association Stéphane Lamart in France.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting O'Neil, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about O'Neil?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Association Stéphane Lamart handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw O'Neil on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt O'Neil if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Association Stéphane Lamart will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is O'Neil already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if O'Neil isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Association Stéphane Lamart early rather than rehoming privately; they know O'Neil and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
