Opalite & Ophelia

Mixed Breed Β· Unknown Β· Kitten Β· 2 months

Our names are Opalite & Ophelia and we need our new home together! * * We are a very bonded brother and sister and MUST be adopted together * * Available: from 8th November Gender: Opalite – Male | Ophelia – Female Colour: Opalite – Black & white | Ophelia – White with a black tail We were rescued from a large cat colony. We are looking for a loving home together where we can continue to grow in confidence and enjoy plenty of attention, cuddles and playtime. Opalite: I’m an absolute cuddle bug! I love human attention and will take every opportunity to come and snuggle up on you. If there’s a lap available, I’ll be there, and I’m always happy to settle down for a snooze with you. Ophelia: I’m a little more reserved when meeting new people, but having my brother by my side makes all the difference. I take confidence from him when it comes to trusting humans. Once I’m comfortable, I’ll happily come and snuggle up beside him on your lap and enjoy lots of strokes and attention. When it comes to playtime, I’m the more confident one, and my brother is quite happy to follow my lead! We both have a rather unusual habit of using our humans as climbing frames and even perching on your shoulders! We love chasing each other around, and when we get going, you could be forgiven for thinking there’s a herd of elephants running through your home! We are both incredibly sweet, affectionate and playful kittens who absolutely love human company. Once we’re comfortable with you, our purrs start up and we sound like a pair of little tractors! You’ll often find us curled up together, keeping each company. Other cats: Yes, we are great with other cats. Dogs: Not yet assessed Children: Yes, older children Indoor/outdoor home: Either Minimum Adoption Donation: Β£140 each

About Opalite & Ophelia

What life with Opalite & Ophelia looks like

Opalite & Ophelia is a large kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Heronbank Cat Rescue in United Kingdom.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months β€” most shelters arrange this before adoption.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Opalite & Ophelia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Opalite & Ophelia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Heronbank Cat Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Opalite & Ophelia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Opalite & Ophelia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Heronbank Cat Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Opalite & Ophelia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Opalite & Ophelia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Heronbank Cat Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Opalite & Ophelia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
