Oreo Mika

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten · 3 months

A female animal shelter volunteer: Desislava Bogdanova born: approximately May 2026 Sex: male Location: Bulgaria Neutered: no FIV test: negative FeLV test: negative Handicaps: none compatible with: Children: unknown Cats: yes Dogs: unknown Requirements: only apartment living, NO outdoor access Balcony or terrace desirable (if available, securing is required) Oreo and Mika owe their lives to a small miracle. The little cats come from a cat colony. One day a cruel person laid out poison there. For all the other cats in the colony, this day ended fatally - they died after ingesting the poison. Oreo and Mika were very lucky: they were not at the feeding station at that time and did not eat any of the poisoned food. They are the only survivors of this tragedy - two small lucky children who narrowly escaped death. Oreo and Mika are not brothers, but what connects them goes far beyond that. The two are the same age and have developed into an inseparable duo after everything they have experienced together. Mika is a bit more open and quickly finds access to people and other cats. Oreo needs a little longer to gain trust, but orients himself all the more to Mika and always keeps an eye out for him. Together, the two give each other security and are simply where the other is. We wish Oreo and Mika that their small miracle continues. They have each other and thus something very precious - now they just need people who see their special connection and give them a beautiful life together. After their difficult start, the two should finally experience what happiness feels like. Their very personal happy ending would be more than deserved.

About Oreo Mika

What life with Oreo Mika looks like

Oreo Mika is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oreo Mika, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oreo Mika?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oreo Mika on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oreo Mika if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oreo Mika already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oreo Mika isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oreo Mika and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
