Adoption Requirements Adoption Process Request this Animal Now! Adoption Requirements Adoption Process Request this Dog Now! Ori has found his forever home! His Story: Before his rescue, Ori’s life hung by a thread—wandering alone and aimlessly around a gas station near a busy highway. When the little dog realized someone wanted to care for him, he wagged his tail eagerly and hurried toward his rescuer. Today, this mere 25 cm-tall male dog is in foster care in Romania, hoping soon to find a human who will offer him a loving, safe home. Ori proves to be a very calm and composed four-legged friend. He walks on leash without any difficulty and thoroughly enjoys long, relaxing walks. Sniffing around in the grass at his own pace is one of sweet Ori’s favorite pastimes. Toward people, he displays an exceptionally affectionate demeanor. He loves their company and would ideally like to stay by their side around the clock. The fact that Ori’s life hasn’t been easy so far becomes evident in his fear of loud noises. In such moments, he seeks shelter and a secure environment. Loving, consistent training—preferably at a positive-reinforcement dog school—will help Ori gain even more confidence. This adorable little fellow, weighing just 7.6 kg and sporting a hazel-brown head, is already house-trained and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Currently, Ori lives with five other dogs at his Romanian foster home, and this arrangement works out perfectly. He also behaves peacefully toward cats. We’re looking for a friendly, possibly even sociable home for Ori—a place that will shower his little heart with love and empathetically teach him the remaining basics of canine etiquette. It’s possible he’s had a permanent home before, but we can only speculate about his past. Would Ori bring a warm light into your heart? This little guy will be ready to travel starting early July and, after a positive pre-adoption check and upon payment of a protection fee, can move in with you—chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, flea-treated, and neutered. He’ll bring his EU pet passport along. Ori would also be delighted to find a foster home. We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Eileen, who gave Ori a very special, Hebrew name. He’ll carry it with pride. As of June 21, 2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Ori

What life with Ori looks like

Ori is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ori, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ori?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ori on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ori if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ori already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ori isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ori and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
