adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Oscar has found a home! His story: Oscar waits for you in his foster home! Be enchanted by Oscar! He is our charming 6-year-old male dog – small, but with a huge heart! Unfortunately, he hasn't had the best experiences so far, but he still hasn't lost his trust in people. Due to his bad experiences, he can appear a bit shy, especially with sudden movements. But don't be fooled – he is calm, friendly, and longs for love. Petting is his absolute favorite moment, and he will become the true cuddle pro. Still a bit reserved, he shows quickly that he builds trust when given time. Oscar has a wound on his left eye, possibly he is blind on this eye. Further examinations will follow, but he is not restricted by this. In terms of behavior, he is already a little pro. On the leash, he walks like a gentleman, and he has perfect house manners. With other animals, whether dog or cat, he gets along splendidly – he is simply a team player. He currently lives in a nearly all-male household and it doesn't bother him at all; he loves any form of attention. This lovable male dog with his gentle nature and golden heart is only waiting to arrive in a home full of love. Are you ready to offer him exactly that? If so, he could be the perfect cuddly companion for you. After a positive assessment, we would also be very happy to have a foster home for Oscar. Many thanks to Maria P.! You gave Oscar his name. Status: 27.04. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vielen Dank an Maria P.! Du hast Oscar seinen Namen geschenkt. Stand: 27.04.2024

About Oscar

What life with Oscar looks like

Oscar is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oscar, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oscar?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oscar on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oscar if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oscar already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oscar isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oscar and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
