adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Oscar has found his home! His story: All eyes on Oscar, our little heartbreaker. The little man is a real beauty. His black glossy fur with white accent colors makes him a real looker. Oscar is simply a dream! Despite his youth – we estimate that he is currently going through puberty – he is an incredibly balanced and calm dog. He loves spending time with people and is super people-oriented. Even though he might be a little anxious at the leash at first, he makes great progress every day. And let's just say: With a few tasty treats, you'll definitely get him on your side! He gets along well with other dogs and is a true team player. His uncomplicated nature makes it easy to integrate him into a family. However, we do not know his relationship with cats. Oscar is waiting to be found by people who want to explore the world with him and teach him the basics of being a dog with patience and love. Oscar was found alone near a factory. Fortunately, he was saved by our animal welfare workers and is now waiting in Zalau for his big happiness. We are looking for a family that is ready to give him the necessary time and patience to settle in, raise him, and teach him everything a happy family dog needs. Don't let small setbacks discourage you, because Oscar must first settle in, and puberty could also throw a wrench in things. His 35 cm and 15 kg are perfect for being everywhere. Oscar travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, together with his EU pet passport, to his new home. Stand: 08.09. But also a foster home would enrich his life. Do you have a dog bed free and a place in your heart? Many thanks Christine D., with your nametag sponsorship for Oscar, you have laid the foundation for his happier future. Stand: 08.09.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Oscar

What life with Oscar looks like

Oscar is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oscar, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oscar?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oscar on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oscar if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oscar already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oscar isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oscar and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
