Adopt Oskar

Mixed Breed · Female

Hi, I'm Oskar and my aunt says I have small chances of getting a home because I have a white spot. It's sad that because of some virus, people won't want me. You don't need to be afraid of being in contact with me. This disease doesn't spread to humans. Considering that I'm likely to pass away sooner than my healthy siblings, I need a home even more. I should have someone to cuddle with and play with... I had two strong crises, but the medication raised me very quickly. Currently, my blood results are good, I had a detailed ultrasound of my belly, and I feel great. I have a big appetite, I potty train excellently, and I love to harass people. I can't imagine spending my whole life in a cage. Maybe there's someone who already has an FIV-positive kitten... Or someone with experience who won't be scared of my disease. Of course, the future owner must know that I can't live with other healthy cats. The disease doesn't spread to dogs, so I can live with a dog. We need to consider that my body doesn't always handle the virus well. My health can deteriorate suddenly. We're looking for a permanent home FIV negative, Felv positive.

Szukamy domu stałego Fiv ujemny, Felv dodatni.

About Oskar

What life with Oskar looks like

Oskar is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja EkoStraż in Wrocław.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oskar, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oskar?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja EkoStraż handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oskar on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oskar if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja EkoStraż will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oskar already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oskar isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja EkoStraż early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oskar and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
