Adopt Oskar (Оскар)

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

🚨Looking for a home for Oscar 🚨 🐕 Oscar is a boy, a Labrador mix. He is about three years old, and unfortunately, in this short time he has already experienced many difficult moments in his life. One and a half years ago, Oscar came to the refuge for stray animals in Lviv. We found his owner, but this person refused him, saying the dog was not needed. Initially, Oscar was under the care of volunteers at the refuge, and for the last several months he has been in foster care, at the home of our volunteer. However, he cannot keep the dog for long, and the dog needs a permanent owner, as the changes in ownership that have occurred in his life over the years are stressful for him. Oscar is a very good and active dog, he loves children, loves to run and play. He is very charismatic and a favorite of everyone who meets him on a walk. He loves to ride in a car and behaves politely there. However, he still needs training and does not get along with other male dogs. We have done all necessary examinations, vaccinations, and issued a veterinary passport for international travel. Therefore, he is also ready for rehoming in Europe. Oscar is in Lviv, but we can bring him to another city.

About Oskar (Оскар)

What life with Oskar (Оскар) looks like

Oskar (Оскар) is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Happy Paw Lviv in Ukraine.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oskar (Оскар), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oskar (Оскар)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Happy Paw Lviv handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oskar (Оскар) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oskar (Оскар) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Happy Paw Lviv will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oskar (Оскар) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oskar (Оскар) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Happy Paw Lviv early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oskar (Оскар) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (UK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
