Oskar2

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Description Our animal welfare workers report: Oskar2 was rescued from the large, Romanian culling in Alexandria – a place where hope dies every day and death casts its shadow over innocent souls. Oskar2 somehow managed to survive there but still isn't living. He is now in safety, in a private shelter. But what seems like rescue for Oskar2 is only more silent suffering: he grows thinner, barely eats – probably only what other dogs leave behind. His small body and soul are suffering. The hustle and bustle of the stressful animal shelter everyday life burdens the little four-legged one. 💔 Oskar2 needs a home so desperately! A place where he belongs. Where food, warmth, and love don't have to be shared but belong to him alone. He needs a primary caregiver who will accompany him to his bowl so he can eat in peace. What a treasure he is? Oskar2 is simply loving, quiet, people-oriented, gentle, friendly, and gets along well with other dogs. He is a low-energy pup who likes to stay in the second row. He is not one to push to the front – perhaps that's why he is often overlooked. Oskar2 shows compatibility with fellow animals but doesn't want to play or run wild; he tends to shy away cautiously, staying in the background. Oskar2 has a low energy level and needs retreats, he doesn't like four-legged roughhousing. A stormy dog pack is terrifying and unpleasant for him. Oskar2 doesn't seek luxury. He seeks a person who will show him that he is wanted, where he can slowly relax and feel safe. Oskar2 seeks a person who will take responsibility for him and regulate for him. One who sees him – really sees him – and never lets him go. Who will finally bring this little, brave treasure home? He deserves life. And love. And a full bowl – just for himself. ❤ Update 27.08.2025: New photos. Oskar has been in Germany since the end of July, now in a foster home in PLZ 37688 Beverungen (near Kassel). At first, he was fearful, but after a short adjustment period, he settled in. Oskar loves being stroked and seeks contact with his human. He is compatible with other dogs and enjoys cuddling with the cats. Oskar is house-trained, and leash training is currently being worked on. 10.08.2025: New pictures and Oskar2 has made it to a caring foster home in Beverungen (near Kassel), where he is being fed up and prepared for life in his new home. About Oskar2

What life with Oskar2 looks like

Oskar2 is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oskar2, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oskar2?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oskar2 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oskar2 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oskar2 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oskar2 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oskar2 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
