At first, he is a bit distrustful of people, but if we provide him with security, stability and understanding, he opens up beautifully. When he trusts, he gladly comes to the caregiver for a well-earned portion of affection. What is FIV+? It is a syndrome of acquired immunodeficiency, commonly called feline AIDS, because it resembles the human form of this disease. Infection occurs mainly through direct contact of the carrier's saliva with the blood of another cat, for example, through deep bite wounds during fights. Cats with FIV can live with other FIV-infected cats, but also with healthy cats, provided the animals are calm and there are no aggressive fights between them. Only cats can get infected. Therefore, you and your dog cannot get infected, nor can you transmit FIV to your neighbor's cat. It is an incurable disease, but with proper care, its progression can be slowed, and a cat with FIV can live a long and happy life. The basis is a strictly indoor environment, regular health monitoring of the cat and strengthening its immunity (for example, using appropriate supplements).
