adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Our handsome Labrador mother was found carrying on the streets of Baia Mare. Fortunately, she was able to find a loving foster home where she safely gave birth to her five puppies, Tashi, Carlos, Otti, Monti, and Frieda. At first, we thought the father was an unknown stray, but upon seeing Otti and his siblings, we now suspect a mix between Golden Retriever and Labrador, as they look like purebred little retrievers. The mother has bewitched the foster home with her calm, laid-back nature, to the point where she might keep it herself. Otti is the gentle one in the group. While the others might already be playing, he prefers to snuggle up to his primary caregiver’s legs first. He is incredibly people-oriented and already shows the typical clingy Labbi side. He gets along well with the foster home’s cats and is an absolute treasure when it comes to interacting with children. He is relaxed and takes the everyday life in stride but can also get into it and then his playfulness knows no bounds. A puppy like Otti needs people who patiently teach him the basics of being a dog. As he is a mix of two eager-to-learn breeds, he will enjoy mental stimulation. We rely on positive reinforcement and are looking for a family that shows him how wonderful a dog life can be. He needs a lot of time, patience, and love to start a new life. Otti is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He possesses an EU pet passport and will only be placed after a positive assessment. Special thanks go to namesake Justine for the beautiful name. As of: 17.06.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 17.06.2026

About Otti

What life with Otti looks like

Otti is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Otti, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Otti?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Otti on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Otti if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Otti already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Otti isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Otti and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
