Otto

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

Otto is a friendly and playful young male who was rescued along with his sisters Edhora and Maily. The siblings had a difficult start in life and were eventually left to fend for themselves. Now, Otto is ready for a new chapter. With people who love, support, and provide the security he deserves. Otto is a very friendly, social, and happy puppy. He is playful, curious, and gets along well with other dogs. With his open nature, he has everything you would want from a young family dog. He also lives with cats and gets along very well with them. His age-appropriate curiosity and desire to explore the world. At the same time, he needs people who can patiently show him how life in a family works. Housebreaking, leash training, new experiences, and the basics of dog behavior are still to be learned. But with loving consistency, understanding, and time, he will surely master these steps. Attending a positive dog school can provide additional support. Otto is a lively young dog with a loving nature and the potential to become a wonderful companion for life. We wish him a home where he can arrive, grow, and just be a puppy. After a successful pre-check and the assumption of a deposit, Otto travels with a microchip, vaccinations, deworming, flea treatment, and an EU pet passport to his new home. Who will give this great guy the chance to a loving and safe home? Many thanks to Mallorca for the naming sponsorship. Thanks to you, Otto has his name and the chance for a better and safer life. Status: 18.07.2026 Further information on the pre-check and deposit.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Otto

What life with Otto looks like

Otto is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Otto, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Otto?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Otto on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Otto if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Otto already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Otto isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Otto and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
