Adopt OZYRYS

Mixed Breed · Unknown

OZYRYS arrived at the animal shelter on ul.Paryska, and he is a dog that very poorly tolerates the shelter conditions – a lack of sufficient movement, intellectual stimulation, and contact with humans causes him frustration. He is an energetic and emotional dog that finds it hard to control and direct his energy. The boy on a walk is making great progress, managing to enter into an increasingly intense interaction with the caregiver without losing control of himself. OZYRYS easily gets excited – he tugs on the leash or jumps on people at these times; he begins to respond to “let go” and “no,” but it depends on the level of excitement. On a walk, he can pull quite hard, but with an adequate amount of movement, it shouldn’t be a problem. He has a good sense of smell for treats, which is very helpful during training. He enjoys physical contact, although it remains an incredibly intense experience for him, so we are working slowly on self-control. The boy pulls very hard toward other dogs, and we recommend him as a single dog, for a home without small children. His attitude toward cats is unknown, but given his energy levels and lack of control, it could end in an accident. This is a dog for an experienced caregiver who understands the breed’s specifics, is calm and consistent, and can build a bond with the dog based on trust, making the dog want to work with him after a walk.

About OZYRYS

What life with OZYRYS looks like

OZYRYS is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Lublin in Lublin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting OZYRYS, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about OZYRYS?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Lublin handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw OZYRYS on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt OZYRYS if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Lublin will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is OZYRYS already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if OZYRYS isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Lublin early rather than rehoming privately; they know OZYRYS and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
