P/00-2129-Gaia

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

How to adopt a dog? On March 24, 2026, we found Gaia in some gardens of Burriana. She was barely a year old and was completely terrified. She ran from people, even those who had been her family, because she only thought about one thing: keeping her puppies safe. Searching for an animal shelter and food, Gaia ended up approaching an urbanization where some neighbors, seeing her so scared and vulnerable, prepared a small shelter for her to care for her babies. There she tried to survive while protecting her little ones with everything she had. Despite the fear, Gaia never stopped being a brave mother. She taught us what it means to care from instinct and the purest love. Slowly we managed to put her and her puppies to safety and start a new chapter for them all. Today Gaia is safe and far from danger, but she still needs to find something very important: a permanent home where she can rest, trust, and leave behind the fear that has marked her short life. She is a noble, sensitive, and very intelligent dog. Like many dogs that have lived through insecure situations, she needs time to feel calm, but behind that caution lies a loyal companion full of love to give. Her story also reminds us of a common reality: many animals are still being bred without control, without sterilization, and without responsibility, which ends up putting both the mothers and their puppies at risk. Gaia was lucky. She found people who decided to help her before it was too late. Now it's her turn to receive the opportunity she so deserves. Gaia is looking for a patient and committed family that will allow her to discover what it means to live in peace, be loved, and be safe for the first time in her life. About P/00-2129-Gaia

What life with P/00-2129-Gaia looks like

P/00-2129-Gaia is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Huellas Callejeras in Spain.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

Frequently asked

Adopting P/00-2129-Gaia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about P/00-2129-Gaia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Huellas Callejeras handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw P/00-2129-Gaia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt P/00-2129-Gaia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Huellas Callejeras will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is P/00-2129-Gaia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if P/00-2129-Gaia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Huellas Callejeras early rather than rehoming privately; they know P/00-2129-Gaia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
