Pacha

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

Age: born on January 1, 2010 Breed: Chartreux mix Identification: 250 269 801 595 494 Physical characteristics: Pacha is a fairly large, slender cat with green eyes and gray fur. Tested negative for FIV/FelV, vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. Pacha has a special kidney diet and is positive for calicivirus, but is in good health. Personality: Pacha has shown affection since arriving at the house. It is a cat that enjoys the presence of its human roommates. Although it does not always seek contact on its own, you can be sure it will enjoy head and neck scratches and will not hesitate to ask for more! It will stay by your side during relaxed moments on the couch, and may even lie down on you when it feels like it. Despite his advanced age, he remains active and very curious: the slightest small noise or unusual action will make him come. He also tends to follow his human wherever he goes in the apartment to see what he is going to do! It is also a playful cat that enjoys playing with shoelaces, belt loops, or a plant stem, for example. Regarding food, Pacha knows how to show that he is hungry by going near his bowl while meowing. However, his few mouth injuries prevent him from eating the entire contents of his bowl at once; therefore, patience is needed while making sure he eats enough and preferring wet food. Background: his former owner was no longer able to take care of him and wanted to have him euthanized. Ideal placement: a quiet home, available to provide the necessary care, play with, and cuddle him, without other cats and without children under 8 years old. Contact: animal is available in foster care in Paris 12th arrondissement. Contact Karine by SMS (preferred), evening after 8pm or weekends, by email, or via web form.

About Pacha

What life with Pacha looks like

Pacha is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 in Paris.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pacha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pacha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pacha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pacha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pacha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pacha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pacha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
