adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Paco can stay forever in its foster home! 04509 Delitzsch. Paco traveled to its foster home at the beginning of April! His story: Baia Mare, Romania. Paco is waiting for people who can help him out of his predicament. His left front paw had to be amputated, and we want to help him achieve a happy life through prosthetic care. Our Paco was severely injured in a car accident and was brought to the animal rescue by the dog catchers. Our Romanian team took him to the clinic, where they unfortunately could not save the damaged paw and had to amputate it. Paco must have endured horrific pain before the operation. This life-changing event occurred about a year ago, and since then, the cute puppy has been stuck in the overcrowded shelter. He is now around 2 years old, and it's questionable if he has experienced anything nice in his life. Nevertheless, he longs for love and affection! And who would wish more for the unfortunate Paco than to be able to start his real life? He is just beginning to mature and wants to start his real life now. Paco is so loving and friendly. He enjoys the company of humans and gets along well with his fellow animals. His handicap does not limit him. Paco stands at a shoulder height of about 50 cm. Due to his shortened rear leg, he is unfortunately unable to enter Switzerland. Who will open the door for Paco to a life worth living and give him a foster home? Who will accompany him to physiotherapy, help him get used to his prosthesis, and thereby open up new possibilities for him? The treatment costs will be covered by our association. We wish empathetic people for the sweet Paco who will give him the time and love to settle down. Probably Paco has never lived in a house and needs to learn the entire dog ABC from scratch. He wants to learn everything and accompany his new family on many adventures. Paco would surely be very happy about a visit to a positively working dog training class. This way, the exciting but challenging time of puberty, which the young man will soon have to go through, can be well managed. Dog-friendly housing and consistent, but loving training are the keys to a harmonious relationship between human and animal. Paco travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas to its new home or foster home. He brings his EU pet passport with him and will now hope for a happy future with loving people. Many thanks to Michaela M.! You gave Paco its name and thus its identity! A big thank you also goes to Daniel V., who has taken on a monthly sponsorship for Paco. As of 27.09.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Paco darf für immer in seiner Pflegestelle bleiben! 04509 Delitzsch. Stand: 27.09.2023

About Paco

What life with Paco looks like

Paco is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Paco, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Paco?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Paco on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Paco if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Paco already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Paco isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Paco and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
