Paco

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Male · 3 years

Hello, I am Paco. I was secured for animal welfare reasons and find myself at the animal shelter not really settling in. Although my team and the walkers are doing their best, it is all too much for me here and I am quite stressed. I long for my own home where I can relax and be happy again. Would you like to know more about me? I enjoy cuddling, especially during our walks together. The proximity to people gives me security and joy. I can already engage well with foraging games. This kind of mental stimulation makes me very happy. Additionally, I am house-trained and tend to be more quiet indoors. I am still not very good at relaxing outdoors. I am still an insecure dog, especially with all the stimuli and environmental distractions outdoors. Probably, I did not get to know much in my past, which is why I still need support to build trust. I wish for a second chance in an experienced and loving home, ideally in a quiet environment, on the outskirts of a city or in the countryside. I am a singleton and would therefore not like to have other dogs, cats, or children in my home. Unfortunately, I have HD and should therefore only be allowed to climb a few or no stairs. I have a lot of fun with joint training and am motivated to work and learn with my people. Why I am your chance: I am a dog with potential who can become a loyal and balanced companion in the right hands. With patience, understanding, and consistent guidance, I am ready to work on my projects with you and build a real partnership. For this, you must please arrange several meetings for getting to know each other and building trust. If you want to give me this chance, contact my animal care team or fill out the form below in as much detail as possible so that my caregivers have all the relevant information for placement.

About Paco

What life with Paco looks like

Paco is a medium-sized adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg in Berlin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Hip dysplasia (HD) - should avoid stairs, needs quiet rural environment, requires multiple meet-and-greet sessions

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Paco, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Paco?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Paco on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Paco if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Paco already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Paco isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Paco and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
