Adopt Padi

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 3 months

Update 13.03.2026 Padi ❤️ The sensitive softy of the litter ❤️ Padi was found along with his mother, Calrose, and his siblings- we call them the “Rice Babies” because they were tiny like little grains of rice, and their names were inspired by that 🌾 Padi is very sensitive and enjoys attention, but he doesn’t push himself forward. He can be a little shy around new people at first, but he warms up quickly and shows his affectionate side. He is now 6 months old and weighs 10 kg. Padi gets along very well with other dogs and is always friendly- a truly wonderful young dog ❤️ His story: Welcome Bomba, Onigiri, Shari, Riso, Padi, Basmati and Maki. Do you know the drama story of their young life and how the Souda Shelter could bring it to a positive end? We introduce to you the pups we recently took in, the beautiful babies with their momma from the field. They are so precious. The benefit of having them together and with their mom is great! What makes a solid, stable mental development is having the family unit together during this crucial, young age.

About Padi

What life with Padi looks like

Padi is a very small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Souda Shelter in Chania.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇷Adopting from Greece

Greek shelters often partner with Northern European rescue groups for placements. Animals are sterilized, vaccinated, and chipped before adoption. Fees vary widely depending on whether the shelter is municipal or NGO-run.

Frequently asked

Adopting Padi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Padi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Souda Shelter handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Padi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Padi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Souda Shelter will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Padi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Padi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Souda Shelter early rather than rehoming privately; they know Padi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
