Pady

American Staffordshire Terrier · Male · Senior · 9 years

Pady is an American Staff a bit "different." This dog, who has been at our shelter for several years already, has chronic neurological issues that make him unique: he walks crooked, with his legs sometimes crossed. Despite his peculiarities, Pady is an endearing, gentle, and very affectionate dog. He doesn't necessarily need a big garden or long walks. Pady is regularly taken out by his caregivers and volunteers, who take into account his special needs during their interactions. Pady is an extremely affectionate dog and craves human contact. He loves to play but above all, he enjoys being close to humans. He is a true clingy one. He spent many years in foster care, and the work done with his caregivers and volunteers has transformed him into a cuddly, affectionate, and endearing dog, in search of human contact. He loves to play, he loves to be touched, and he enjoys gentle talk. He accepts handling, wears harnesses and muzzles without issue, and remains gentle during care. We would like to draw attention to the fact that Pady needs moderate exercise due to his motor issues. We recommend a home without stairs, without children, and without other animals. This animal must be handled with a muzzle. This animal is not suitable for homes with young children. This animal needs to be the only pet in the home.

About Pady

What life with Pady looks like

Pady is a medium-sized senior american staffordshire terrier dog waiting at SRPA Veeweyde Brussels in Brussels.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Chronic neurological disorders causing crossed gait and mobility issues. Requires single-story home, moderate exercise only, no stairs.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pady, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pady?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SRPA Veeweyde Brussels handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pady on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pady if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SRPA Veeweyde Brussels will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pady already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pady isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SRPA Veeweyde Brussels early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pady and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
