Adopt Palko-4

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 10 months

Origin Country: Hungary May we introduce: Palko, the heartwarming puppy! But Palko also had no luck, was apparently no longer wanted, and wandered aimlessly on the streets of Kecskemét. Kind passersby called the shelter, and Palko was immediately picked up, clearly happy to be saved and no longer alone. Since November 17, 2025, Palko has been eagerly waiting "behind bars" for a positive turn in his life, for people who will show him how wonderful life can be and will never leave him. Palko is a loving, curious, playful, cheerful, and well-behaved puppy, a ray of sunshine, a "good mood dog," who also has a mischievous streak, as befits a young puppy. In new situations, he can also be shy, but he is a small gem that now needs to be lovingly shaped. He brings all the prerequisites to become a wonderful and faithful companion who will stick with his people through thick and thin. Of course, his new people should be aware that a young puppy is both labor- and time-intensive but also brings a lot of joy and fun. And let's not forget the responsibility for a whole puppy life. It would also be advantageous to inform yourself about the character traits of the Hungarian Puli, because Palko definitely has "Puliblood" in him. What hidden talents he possesses, his new owners will discover. Palko is already an eager participant in the Mentor Program and has won the hearts of all mentors. Palko gets along well with his fellow animals, loves playing and toiling with his doggy friends. He lives in a puppy/junior puppy group. For our charming Palko, we are looking for enterprising and loving people who will guide Palko patiently, clearly, and lovingly through his life, challenge and nurture him both mentally and physically, of course in accordance with his age, give him plenty of love, care, and security, spoil him with many cuddles, let him have the necessary peace to relax and unwind, and welcome Palko into their family forever. Palko will bring a lot of joy, action, and love into his new home. Who can be Palko's faithful companion? Currently, he is still too young for castration; this must be done by his new owners when he is old enough. His final height of 43–53 cm and final weight of 11-18 kg are only estimated. On December 18, 2025, Palko was 40 cm and 8.5 kg. On February 1, 2026, Palko was 44 cm and 11.4 kg. On April 10, 2026, Palko was 42 cm and 12.6 kg. Palko is travel-ready. This is a young, adolescent dog.

About Palko-4

What life with Palko-4 looks like

Palko-4 is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Palko-4, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Palko-4?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Palko-4 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Palko-4 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Palko-4 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Palko-4 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Palko-4 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
