Palmino is looking for a home 💚 Meet Palmino PALMINO - A BIG TENDER GIANT LOOKING FOR HIS LITTLE BIG HAPPINESS! ❤️ Sometimes it's the big dogs that have an especially gentle heart. Our beautiful Palmino is just such a treasure! At 65 cm shoulder height, Palmino is an imposing figure. But behind his size is an incredibly kind, friendly, and gentle fellow who conquers hearts with his wonderful nature. Palmino longs for nothing more than people who love him for who he is. People, where he can arrive, find security and finally experience how beautiful a home can be. For our big heart dog, we wish a loving home with people who not only see his size, but above all his huge heart. People who give him time to arrive and discover the beautiful sides of life together. TRIAL LIVING IS POSSIBLE! Palmino is allowed to move in on a trial basis with his people first. So both sides have enough time to get to know each other in peace and find out if they want to go through life together. Who falls in love with our gentle giant and finally gives him a home full of love and security? 🐾 At a glance 🐾 AnimalMale 🎂 Age3 years 📏 Size65 cm 🌍 OriginBosnia 📍 LocationBosnia (departure end of Nov.) 🐕 CompatibilityHundes friendly 🩺 Healthvaccinated, chipped and neutered 🏡 Desired home loving family with garden 💚 Interested?Marion Kostarellis Mobile: You can also contact Marion via WhatsApp. 📸 More from Palmino

About Palmino

What life with Palmino looks like

Palmino is an extra-large adult mixed breed dog waiting at APAL Finikas (Kreta) in Greece.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇷Adopting from Greece

Greek shelters often partner with Northern European rescue groups for placements. Animals are sterilized, vaccinated, and chipped before adoption. Fees vary widely depending on whether the shelter is municipal or NGO-run.

Frequently asked

Adopting Palmino, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Palmino?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. APAL Finikas (Kreta) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Palmino on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Palmino if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — APAL Finikas (Kreta) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Palmino already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Palmino isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with APAL Finikas (Kreta) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Palmino and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
