Adopt Pamina

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Native Country: Hungary Heartfelt Pamina arrived in Kecskemét from the town of Lajosmizse in Ungarn on February 20, 2026, at an animal shelter. The town now has a new mayor who wants to help the stray dogs and thus set up some dog traps. One of these traps caught Pamina. Why Pamina was alone on the road remains a mystery; she was not microchipped and was not reported missing. For us, even after all these years, it remains incomprehensible, even though it might be better for Pamina. She now waits "behind bars" for the chance to travel to a new, happy life with loving people who will never leave her and show her how wonderful life can be. Pamina is simply love at first sight. She is an affectionate and lovable female dog, friendly, kind, lively, grateful, a ray of sunshine that brings joy and happiness to her new family. She enjoys every pat and affection and soaks it up like a sponge. She needs a lot of love and closeness. Even Pamina still has to learn a bit more about what a dog needs to know for its future life as a family member. Walking on a leash, she already does a great job, of course, and is still fully trainable. Pamina would certainly be happy about proper dog care at the right time and would be enthusiastic and eager to participate, as long as the dog and human have a great time together. She gets along well with her fellow animals and is currently (March 11, 2026) being integrated into a mixed pack. For our beloved Pamina, we are looking for loving and dog-loving people who can give Pamina everything she has probably never had before. Lots of cuddles and cuddle hours, a warm and soft place to sleep, lots of love, care, and security, daily varied walks, mental and physical stimulation, and of course a full family connection. Pamina will repay you a thousand times over and be a wonderful companion. Pamina will be allowed to travel to a foster home in Switzerland in mid-April 2026. Update from the foster home May 2026: The little Pamina has a thick skin! She is a lively, active, playful, and self-assured personality that needs training and consequences. She therefore needs a place in an active family WITH CHILDREN who enjoy challenging her with sports (Agility, etc.) and playful activities and exploring the world with her. Pamina is small, but OH! Please do not send a questionnaire to animal-happyend. If interested, you can contact Mrs. Edith Bruhin or send an email:

Bitte keinen Fragebogen an animal-happyend senden.

About Pamina

What life with Pamina looks like

Pamina is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pamina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pamina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pamina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pamina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pamina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pamina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pamina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
