Pamuk

Mixed Breed · Female

Kangal * 08/2018 – beige – female – neutered – large – ca. 48 kg, not compatible with children: no, not compatible with cats: no, suitable as a second dog: no, in the animal shelter since: 02/2020 Huiiii, hallo, I am Pamuk. I am a lively and stormy female Kangal. I was given up because I was an unwanted birthday present and my owner was overwhelmed. Well, I am still a bit clumsy and clumsy. As a Kangal, I also have a certain territorial behavior. I look at the people who come to visit me to see if they please me or not. If that is not the case, I will tell them that loudly and clearly. I find ducks and cats very interesting; it is quite funny what there is in the world, and I like to run after them sometimes to take a closer look. I still need a lot of practice with me, my caretakers say, and one should not underestimate me either. I am, after all, a lady with power and strength, like Superwoman. I am curious about new things, but also very cautious at first. I have found a great caretaker friend here with whom I get along super well and who teaches me a lot. She once told another caretaker that I am good to motivate, especially with treats. Mhmm, one just can't resist that, can they? I am also very eager to learn and willing to refine my abilities if the training is varied. Doing the same thing all the time is boring. I also let myself be stroked, but too much of it is not really my thing. I am not a cuddly bear. Overall, I am a strong-willed dog, but I also like to orient myself to people when the necessary trust is present. I am looking for people who are dog-experienced and can offer me physical strength, who can provide both time and patience as well as a loving upbringing and a home without other animals. If you are someone like that who can imagine building a team with me, then come and visit me. I look forward to you. About Pamuk

What life with Pamuk looks like

Pamuk is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Göppingen in Göppingen.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pamuk, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pamuk?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Göppingen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pamuk on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pamuk if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Göppingen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pamuk already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pamuk isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Göppingen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pamuk and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
