Pancake Sosuke

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

female and male Dwarf Rabbits Born 2024 Surrendered [x] yes (Sosuke) / [x] no (Pancake) In the animal shelter since 07.04.2026 ________________________ Pancake and Sosuke came into our shelter unfortunately due to personal circumstances. The two rabbits get along well and are friendly, sensitive animals that look forward to a loving and responsible shared home. Pancake is a Buck Rabbit. The breed must be counted as a breed that suffers from inbreeding and should be noted that they are prone to frequent ear and dental problems, and their field of vision is limited. She either has narrowed or uncannulated tear-nasal canals, and whether an improvement is still possible, we will clarify. For the two, a nice, large enclosure with enrichment and retreat possibilities, which does not fall below the 6qm floor space as recommended by the Veterinary Association, should be available at all times. The larger, and the more additional run space available, the better of course. Currently, they live in indoor housing but can also be accustomed to responsible outdoor housing with good weather protection. Additionally, natural and appropriate feeding (i.e., not pellets or dry food but fresh greens, good hay, herbs, etc.) and reliable care should be ensured. We would like to note that, like most small pets, rabbits are well suited as "observation animals," but should not be used as "first own pets" for children. ________________________ (As of 29.04.2026) Pancake: lighter, Sosuke: darker (Click the images to see them in full size!) The description only reflects how the animal currently behaves in the animal shelter. It may be that the animal behaves differently in its new home with you and your upbringing! Tags:

About Pancake Sosuke

What life with Pancake Sosuke looks like

Pancake Sosuke is a large young adult mixed breed rabbit waiting at Tierheim Marburg in Marburg.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pancake Sosuke, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pancake Sosuke?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Marburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pancake Sosuke on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pancake Sosuke if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Marburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pancake Sosuke already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pancake Sosuke isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Marburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pancake Sosuke and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
