Adopt Pancho

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Pancho was found back in Alora after a severe storm. All alone. Without a chip, without a name, without a collar. Nobody was looking for him, nobody missed him. Luckily, we could safely take in Pancho at our animal shelter. And Pancho? He's won everyone's hearts. He's a super sweet, social, and easy-going dog. He understands dog language very well and is not at all afraid of new people. Pancho is estimated to be four years old. A nice fellow that we believe would fit well in many families: a place where he can be walked, where there is regularity, and where he rarely or never has to stay alone. We are looking for a quiet, nice environment for Pancho with a garden where he can stretch his legs off-leash and play happily with his ball. The garden should be securely fenced with no gaps or cracks, no low or high gates at the top or bottom. Pancho comes with a chip, a European passport, neutered, blood analysis, tick and flea treatment, and deworming. His estimated date of birth is 2/4/2022. Pancho is a mixed breed Labrador, a black pearl with a golden heart. If you are interested in Pancho, you can fill out the intake form at www.hope4pets.be/intake or send a WhatsApp message to 034.

Pancho werd in Alora teruggevonden na een hevige storm. Helemaal alleen. Zonder chip, zonder naam, zonder halsband. Niemand zocht naar hem, niemand miste hem. Gelukkig konden we Pancho veilig opvangen in ons asiel. About Pancho

What life with Pancho looks like

Pancho is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hope4Pets in Belgium.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pancho, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pancho?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hope4Pets handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pancho on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pancho if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hope4Pets will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pancho already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pancho isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hope4Pets early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pancho and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
