adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt Panda! adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt Panda! Panda has found a home! His story: Panda is no one who blends into the crowd—he’s a small dog with a big presence! Anyone who looks at his photos immediately sees: this young male dog exudes pride and almost a touch of superiority, as if he knows exactly what he wants. His name befits his striking, dark facial mask. Together with the beautiful brown-and-black drawing, he’s a true one-of-a-kind that you must fall in love with at first sight. Along with his siblings Lea, Lyra, and his already happily placed brother Bunny, he’s now waiting to find his own home. The young male dog is currently about three months old, measures 37 cm, and weighs around 7 kg. He’s expected to reach a medium to large size. Compared to his siblings, Panda shows a bit more independence and a touch of calmness, which gives him a unique, sovereign presence. But one shouldn’t be deceived: as soon as it’s time to play, he’s just as playful and full of energy as the rest of the pack! Panda prefers to run around with his siblings, with whom he currently gets along well. Compatibility with others has not yet been tested with other dogs outside his pack or with cats. Panda is still at the very beginning of his life. Life in a house, potty training, or going on leash walks are still unknown to him. Since he likely harbors both herding and guardian dog genes, we’re looking for people who either already have experience with these strong-willed breeds or are willing to delve into their needs. Panda needs clear, loving guidance and a task that challenges his alert mind. Puberty is just around the corner. Panda will soon be in that age where the world is rediscovered and boundaries are tested. Patience and humor are called for! A rural home with a securely fenced yard would be ideal for the proud young boy, so he can explore his territory and let off steam. His luggage is packed. Panda is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, and his EU pet passport is ready for pickup. But also, a foster home would be a great first step in his new life. Would you like to show Panda how beautiful the world is and go through thick and thin with him? Many thanks to Ricardo L, who gave Panda his name and thus provided him with an identity. Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 16.03.2026

About Panda

What life with Panda looks like

Panda is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Panda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Panda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Panda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Panda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Panda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Panda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Panda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
