Adopt Pandur C

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Pandur and his sister were left to die - both puppies were put into a garbage bag and simply left on the street on a particularly warm day! It was more than sheer luck that the puppies were found unharmed and brought to our animal shelter! This was good fortune for Pandur, quickly forgotten, and he has since developed into a lovely, cheerful young dog and is now looking for his chance to finally be discovered! The young male dog is clever, fun-loving, and curious. He lives in the run with other young dogs together and spends his time playing and frolicking around. Generally, we see Pandur doing well with children and/or fellow animals. Walking on a leash is currently being practiced with him, but there is still work to be done here. He approaches people kindly and without fear. There is much he naturally still needs to learn and experience, and that is precisely why he is searching for a family that allows him to explore the world. At the moment, Pandur is still at the animal shelter in our area. He will be neutered and leave the shelter after passing a heartworm and Babesia test. We are happy to answer your questions.

About Pandur C

What life with Pandur C looks like

Pandur C is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. in Nordwalde.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pandur C, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pandur C?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pandur C on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pandur C if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pandur C already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pandur C isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pandur C and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
