adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Panja has found her home in France! Her story: Heart Dog Panja, the young and brave puppy mom, enchants everyone with her loving nature. With hopeful eyes, the elegant and beautiful female dog looks to the future, she has shining black fur and a slender, athletic figure. Panja is in the perfect age to start anew. Just arriving in her foster family at the end of October, she was very friendly and cuddly from the beginning, loving all people and dogs. She gets along well with other dogs and even with cats, as she already lived with cats in a private foster home in Romania. She is house-trained since she arrived and is already allowed to come to the office, where she is very popular with everyone. Driving was initially new for Panja, but she has now gotten used to it well. Her leash manners are already very good, she can be a bit skittish outside, but Panja is very eager to learn and applies what she learns quickly. Therefore, a rural home would be best suited for her, where she can settle in peace. In short, this young female dog is a great and loyal companion. Panja's puberty will not be far off, and this is also a time for dogs when the foundations for the rest of their life are set. Therefore, we recommend working with a positively trained dog class for her new family. Patient and loving training will strengthen her self-confidence, deepen her bond with her trusted people, and keep her physically and mentally stimulated. Originally, the young female dog came from Romania, Baia Mare, where she successfully raised her puppies to healthy and strong puppies despite poor living conditions. She was brought to safety with her puppies and lived in a private foster home. Has the sweet Panja touched your heart? Then contact us. She can be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas, with an EU pet passport in her luggage after a positive assessment. Heartfelt thanks to the namesake Michelle, who gave Panja her name and thus her own identity. As of: 14.11.

Stand: 14.11.2024

About Panja

What life with Panja looks like

Panja is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Panja, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Panja?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Panja on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Panja if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Panja already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Panja isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Panja and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
