Pascha

Mixed Breed Cat · Male · Kitten · 4 months

Our approximately 11-year-old tomcat Pascha (European Shorthair) is a very special companion: neutered and in perfect health. He knows only suitable apartment living with a balcony and is an absolutely easy-to-care-for roommate. House-trained, of course, he is. Pascha is friendly but also willful and knows exactly what he wants. He gets along well with adults and teenagers, but he doesn’t like children. As a single cat, he feels most comfortable – other animals are not needed in his territory. He likes to be near his people, seeks their company, and even sleeps with them in the bed. However: proximity is okay, but please follow his rules. Cuddles he enjoys only briefly and only when he requests them – a few seconds at the head are enough for him. His autonomy should be respected, then he shows himself as a pleasant and relaxed companion. Pascha is curious and attentive – when there’s a knock at the door, he’s happy to stand by it (he can’t open it yet). In recent times, he has shown more interest in going outside. So far, we haven’t been able to offer him that beyond the balcony. In the future, he might be able to be accustomed to a secured outdoor area (e.g., a garden). We very much hope that Pascha will do well in his new family. To make the move easier for him, we would like to give him his current scratching post, toys, and familiar things. Vet visits are challenging for Pascha (and his owners), as he doesn’t like going into his transport box. We unfortunately lost his vaccination record; however, he was vaccinated and dewormed regularly as a kitten and young cat. If needed, we can certainly obtain the treatment data from his vet. For Pascha, we wish for a loving home with cat-experienced people who appreciate his quirks and give him the freedom he needs. If interested, we look forward to contacting us. Kind regards, Mrs. Kilicaslan Email:

Perspektivisch könnte man ihn eventuell an gesicherten Freigang (z.B. About Pascha

What life with Pascha looks like

Pascha is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at Tierheim Paderborn in Paderborn.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pascha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pascha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Paderborn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pascha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pascha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Paderborn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pascha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pascha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Paderborn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pascha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
