Passi

Male · Senior · 23 years

Passi (Passion Dela Cybelle) came to us at the Eifelhof in May 2026. His former owners had to give up keeping horses because Passi lost his companion, and at the same time we unfortunately had to put one of our own horses, Perle, to sleep, so everything happened very quickly. Since our Donja did not cope well without Perle, Passi soon moved in with us, and between him and Donja it was love at first sight. Because he worked as a therapy horse in his previous home, he is very friendly and affectionate with people. As he can no longer be ridden in all gaits due to an arthritis diagnosis (spavin), we try to do ground work and other activities with him regularly. If anyone is interested in volunteering or becoming a sponsor for this, please get in touch with us!

About Passi

What life with Passi looks like

Passi is a senior horse waiting at Eifelhof Frankenau (BMT) in Germany.

Adopting a horse is a long-term commitment that almost always requires either land or a boarding stable. The shelter will discuss the horse's training level, vet history, and what kind of work or companionship they're suited for. Expect ongoing costs: feed, farrier, vet, and stabling.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

Paperwork, vet checks and transport rules differ by species and by country. Ask the shelter what is included and what you will need to arrange before you commit.

Frequently asked

Adopting Passi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Passi?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Eifelhof Frankenau (BMT) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Passi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Passi if I live in another country?: Sometimes. Whether a horse can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Eifelhof Frankenau (BMT) what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Passi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: What a horse comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Eifelhof Frankenau (BMT) directly what is included and what Passi still needs.
What happens if Passi isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Eifelhof Frankenau (BMT) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Passi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
