Pastorini

Male · Puppy · 4 months

Six months old, adoptable in Verona small Pastorini (similar to P. Swiss, future 20kg), complete health protocol, looking for a home! These wonderful white and soft fluffy bundles in the photos are part of a litter of similar Pastorini (not Maremmano, about 20kg as adults) of which two females and one male are still available. Their beauty (incredible) is proportional to the bad luck they had in their short past marked by abandonment by someone, probably without any shame, who got rid of them as if they were old things. But if it's true that not all evil is harmful... About two months ago, their life underwent a big change: arriving at the boarding kennel, - rightly - terrified of humans, these sweet puppies showed an immense desire for redemption that has led them today to be definitely more open, sociable and ready to be adopted by whoever wants to show them how many beautiful things a human being is capable of. With strangers, it's true, the puppies might still be a little bit shy... But we are very sure they will win over their future families in a blink of an eye! So we invite you to come and meet them in person at the boarding kennel (Velo Veronese, VR) to fall in love for good, are you in? For any information, you can contact us via SMS or WhatsApp (no calls due to work) at the number:

IT·Show original

About Pastorini

What life with Pastorini looks like

Pastorini is a medium-sized puppy/kitten dog waiting at Animalisti Verona ODV in Verona.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pastorini, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pastorini?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animalisti Verona ODV handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pastorini on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pastorini if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animalisti Verona ODV will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pastorini already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pastorini isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animalisti Verona ODV early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pastorini and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
