Originally, Patricia comes from Zarnesti, a small community about 20 kilometers away from Brasov, where our partner association runs the unique Libearty Bear Park. Following the death of a jogger in Bucharest, the community of Zarnesti decided to hand over the street dog problem to the notorious dog catcher Flavius Barbulescu, who has been responsible for the deaths of countless street dogs in the past. Concerned citizens of Zarnesti subsequently reached out desperately to our animal welfare colleagues if they discovered an animal in distress. Patricia was among those who were lucky enough to come under the care of our Romanian animal welfare colleagues.
