Adopt Patton

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 10 years

Urgent foster care, Patton needs you. Today we officially introduce Patton. He appeared wandering around Paramos Tui, and although we have been searching tirelessly for his family, no one has missed him. To the family he thought was his, Patton doesn't really care. Patton is 10 years old, super affectionate, and good-natured. He's not doing well at the animal rescue association because he loves being around human company all the time, and our volunteers can't be with him as much as we'd like. Patton has inflamed knees and suffers from arthritis, and also has torn ligaments. He will need to be operated on soon. He can't put much pressure on his legs or go for long walks, so we urgently need a foster care home where he can be accompanied and monitored. A cozy little house with a small garden would be ideal for his recovery. If you want to help our precious Patton have a good recovery and a good life, call us. Adoption phone number:

Urge acogida, Patton te necesita Hoy os presentamos oficialmente a Patton. About Patton

What life with Patton looks like

Patton is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Aloia Protectora in Tui.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Patton, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Patton?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aloia Protectora handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Patton on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Patton if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aloia Protectora will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Patton already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Patton isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aloia Protectora early rather than rehoming privately; they know Patton and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
