Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this animal now! Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this dog now! Paula is a very special young dog who can enchant anyone instantly - through her loving nature and also visually! Her black fur is elegantly emphasized by a pretty white chest and delicate white tips on her paws. But her true trademark is her perfect dog gaze, which makes it impossible to refuse any wish. The little mouse is currently staying with a foster family in Knüllwald, waiting to be discovered by her heart's people. She and her siblings were only six weeks old when they were found - Paula is now about five months old and approximately 40 cm tall. It is assumed that she will grow into a medium-sized companion dog, but not a large one. What exactly is inside Paula remains her personal surprise, although her alert expression may indicate some clever herding dog genes. Character-wise, the little lady is a real treasure: she comes across as super friendly, incredibly cute and simply sweet when dealing with people. She wants to please everyone, is happy to see all people and always wants to be cuddled. She gets along well with other dogs; how she reacts to cats has not been tested yet - although she shows interest, but in a friendly way, when making eye contact at the window. Paula now lives in an apartment, so she knows many everyday noises - washing machine, dryer, radio and TV etc. do not disturb her. Sometimes she is also obediently alone for a while, but this needs to be practiced step by step, as well as, according to her age, housebreaking and leashing are not yet given, which must be learned in her new home. Anyone who decides for Paula should enjoy patiently explaining the world to her, step by step. Of course, she and her new people will also experience puberty - a phase in which the world is questioned every day. A visit to a dog school can be a great support to grow together as a team. With a portion of love, consistency and her irresistible look, Paula will certainly become a loyal companion for life. Paula is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and treated for fleas. She can be adopted after a positive pre-check and against a fee. Thank you Cornelia, you not only gave Paula her name, but also an identity. Date: 15.05.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Paula

What life with Paula looks like

Paula is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Paula, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Paula?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Paula on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Paula if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Paula already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Paula isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Paula and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
