Paulette

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 12 years

Paulette has a little message for you 💖 COUCOU, I'M PAULETTE! I'm a little cat grandma that the association has named Paulette. I was found alone on the street and, despite the searches, no one ever came to claim me. So today, I would very much like to find a calm and warm home where I can live peaceful days. I love the simple things in life. Sleeping quietly in the sun, walking, slowly discovering my new environment and taking long naps in a quiet corner... that's perfect for me. I'm also a big foodie and I know how to appreciate the little pleasures of life! I'm clean and pretty easy to live with, as long as you respect my little grandma rhythm and my need for tranquility. I don't really like being carried. If you insist, I can spit a little, but rest assured: I never try to attack. I can do the same if someone comes to disturb me when I don't want it: a little "pssshh" and I'll let you know that I'd like to be left alone. But when I want cuddles, it's different! I come to rub against you and I purr... because I also know how to be a very cuddly little grandma. My little life So far, I've been indoors for 15 days and I don't particularly ask to go out. However, I was found on the street, so I know the outdoors. I don't know yet how I behave with other cats or dogs. I'm pretty independent and I mostly need a calm environment. Animals that are very playful or "fast" would probably not be my best friends. So, if you have a quiet home where I can live at my own pace, without being constantly solicited, I think we could get along very well. On the food side, I'm not complicated! I eat everything and I especially like to have a bit of wet food during the day. Sauce, mousse, jelly... I like all the flavors and all the forms! And my health? I currently have no daily care or treatment. However, I have mammary tumors. For now, they are not painful for me. If one of the masses were to ulcerate, surgery would be needed to remove them. For now, given my age and the fact that I live well with it, no surgery is planned. MY RETIREMENT PEN So that's what I'm looking for today... I'm not necessarily looking for a family who wants to do a thousand things with me. I'm looking for a quiet, warm and loving little home where I can quietly enjoy my old age. And because I'm a little grandma who deserves to be accompanied serenely, I will be welcomed in a retirement basket. This means that I will remain under the responsibility of the association Des Cœurs à Sauver and that the association will cover my veterinary expenses. My future family can therefore simply focus on the essentials: offering me a home, calm, comfort, some carefully chosen wet food... and a lot of love. I don't ask for much in the end. Just a little corner in the sun, a peaceful house and someone who will accept to love me with my grandma character. So... could you be my retirement family...

About Paulette

What life with Paulette looks like

Paulette is a senior mixed breed cat waiting at Des Coeurs à Sauver in des coeurs a sauver.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Paulette, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Paulette?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Des Coeurs à Sauver handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Paulette on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Paulette if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Des Coeurs à Sauver will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Paulette already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Paulette isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Des Coeurs à Sauver early rather than rehoming privately; they know Paulette and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
