adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Pauly has found her home! Her story: Pauly is about 5 months old and was found on the street in Romania. She was wearing a collar with a phone number. When the finder called, they explained that they no longer wanted the little one. How terrible for this sweet mouse. But she had good fortune and did not have to go to the animal shelter; she now lives in a foster home with a warm dog bed and a cat friend. Pauly with her light brown fur and funny snout is an absolute ray of sunshine. Her foster mom described it beautifully. "Where Pauly is, the room fills with love and puts a smile on every face." Pauly is currently only 25 cm tall and weighs 3.2 kg. This suggests that she will likely stay small when fully grown. The little Pauly is still a baby. Accordingly, she needs caring people by her side who are ready to practice the dog ABCs with her and look past the occasional mishap. But with a little patience, a large portion of love, and consistent guidance, all puppies have overcome these hurdles. Although Pauly did not have to endure the cold in the kennel but was fortunate to be well cared for, she still wishes for a forever home. Our little diamond in the rough looks forward to a beautiful home, perhaps with a playmate. Sleeping in a cozy dog bed, beautiful nature walks, and all the wonderful things that could make her life worth living. Pauly is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She has her EU pet passport and can be shipped after a positive match. Many thanks to Gerlinde S.! Your name sponsorship was the starting gun for a new life! As of: 15.02.

Stand: 15.02.2025

About Pauly

What life with Pauly looks like

Pauly is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pauly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pauly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pauly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pauly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pauly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pauly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pauly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
