Pchełka

Mixed Breed · Female

We are looking for a home for our beautiful Pchełka. She is a young cat, we think she is not even two years old. We took her from another foundation, where instead of receiving help, she ended up in a bacterial and worm hatchery. She was practically not treated there. Unfortunately, no one even knew that Pchełka is a carrier of leukemia, which could be a threat to other cats that were in the same rooms. Pchełka is a lovely little soul who loves human company and loves to cuddle. Unfortunately, her life in the pseudo-foundation has left its mark - she was very worm infested, which affected her intestines. Currently, she must be fed a special gastrointestinal diet and take probiotics. We are looking for a temporary or permanent home for Pchełka. Ideally, there should be no other cats in the new home, unless they also have the FELV virus. Pchełka could live with a dog that would tolerate her. FIV test is negative. She is dewormed and vaccinated against infectious diseases. She is currently staying in a temporary home.

Szukamy domu dla naszej prześlicznej Pchełki. Jest to młoda kotka, uważamy że nie ma nawet dwóch lat. Odebraliśmy ją z innej fundacji, gdzie zamiast otrzymać pomoc, trafiła do wylęgarni bakterii i robaków. Aktualnie przebywa w domu tymczasowym.

About Pchełka

What life with Pchełka looks like

Pchełka is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja EkoStraż in Wrocław.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pchełka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pchełka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja EkoStraż handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pchełka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pchełka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja EkoStraż will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pchełka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pchełka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja EkoStraż early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pchełka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
