adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Peanut was locally rehomed… His story: Peanut is an approximately three-month-old puppy currently living in a foster home in Bistrița. We know nothing about his origins, but one thing is immediately clear: this little guy brings a lot of joy. From the first moment, Peanut shows incredible openness and friendliness. New situations barely unsettle him. Within the shortest time, he warms up, curiously explores his surroundings, and greets people with wagging tail and great joy. He is a little explorer who wants to be everywhere and quickly gets excited about new things. Even in dealing with other animals, Peanut shows no complications. He gets along well with other dogs and already knows cats. He meets encounters friendly and interested, without fear. As a puppy, of course, Peanut brings everything that comes with this age. He still has to learn everything, from everyday life at home to basic things like house training, being alone, and leash walking. There will not only be progress, but also phases where things are questioned again. The upcoming puppyhood and puberty bring behavior changes that require patience and understanding. His future family should be prepared to accompany him lovingly and consistently, give him clear structures, and show him the world step by step. A visit to a positively working dog training class can be a helpful support and help you build a good foundation together. Peanut is looking for people who enjoy watching a young dog grow and safely accompany him through this important life phase. Peanut travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with his EU pet passport to his new home. Who will give this cheerful little guy a home where he can arrive and explore the world? Many thanks to Namenspatin Anja, who gave Peanut his name and thus gave him a chance at a new life. As of: 02.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Peanut

What life with Peanut looks like

Peanut is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Peanut, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Peanut?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Peanut on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Peanut if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Peanut already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Peanut isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Peanut and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
