Peanut

Poodle · Female · Adult · 4 years

01-10-26 Hiding underneath this fluffy face is Peanut, a pretty little girly who has come into our care from a breeder. Peanut is too scared to have a trim at the moment, but she will accept some gentle handling. It is clear that she is not used to being handled by humans and she is a little unsure of what we are asking of her, so she will need plenty of patience and reassurance while she learns that she is safe. Peanut gets on wonderfully with her kennel friends and relies on their company for comfort, so she will need a kind resident dog in her new home to help guide her and give her the reassurance she needs as she settles in and finds her paws. As Peanut has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training, lead training and the other basics of home life. Her new family will need to give her time to adjust and allow her to learn at her own pace. She can live with older, dog-savvy teens aged 16+, and will need adopters who have experience with ex-breeders to better understand her needs. We hope that once Peanut has settled into home life and gained some confidence, we will see a lively and inquisitive little girl emerge from underneath all that fluff. With the support of a kind canine companion and a patient family, we hope she can begin to enjoy all the fun and comfort that a loving home has to offer. She has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Peanut

What life with Peanut looks like

Peanut is a adult poodle dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Peanut, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Peanut?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Peanut on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Peanut if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Peanut already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Peanut isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Peanut and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
