Pebbles

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten

female Foundling/Free-roaming Born ca. 2017 EKH neutered [x] yes / [] no At the animal shelter since 06.12.2026 ________________________ We test every cat with a quick test for FIV ("Cat AIDS", info here!) and FeLV ("Cat Leukemia", info here!) and clarify the status. We inform here about the risk of FIP disease ("Belly Flu"). ________________________ Pebbles had been wandering around in Wollmar for a long time, had been searching for food in the neighborhood, and had gained some trust before coming to us. It doesn't seem that anyone misses her. She is a somewhat solitary female cat who knows exactly what she likes and what she wants. She shows herself to be compatible with the other cats, they can also cuddle in their den, but she is not particularly close to anyone. We could present her as a single cat, but she could also fit into a non-intrusive, rather quiet, slightly older cat society that would be happy to arrange itself with her. When it gets quieter at the animal shelter, Pebbles likes to spend time in the outdoor area and look into the distance, stretch in the sun, or explore the enclosure. A free roam in a very quiet location would likely please her again, this could also be – after a safe adjustment period – as a yard cat. We wish the pretty Pebbles with her unique fur pattern very well that she will soon leave the animal shelter and move into a loving environment! ________________________ (As of 29.04.2026) (Click the images to see them in full size!) The description gives the current status, but we reserve the right to make changes or new assessments. It can always happen that an animal shows or develops differently due to changed circumstances both here at the animal shelter and in the new home.

About Pebbles

What life with Pebbles looks like

Pebbles is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Marburg in Marburg.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pebbles, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pebbles?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Marburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pebbles on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pebbles if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Marburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pebbles already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pebbles isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Marburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pebbles and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
