Adopt Pedro

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 7 years

Pedro is a dignified gentleman of the German long-haired shepherd type. He is about 7 years old, calm and well-mannered - his puppy years are behind him. Pedro is very friendly towards people, and gets along well with most dogs, could go to a home with other dogs after prior introduction. Our bachelor is intelligent, well-behaved and very people-oriented - he knows basic commands, walks politely and gracefully on a leash and stays in contact with the person during walks. There is no bravado in his actions. Pedro is aware of his strength and does not like too long manipulations on his body, he can then set boundaries with a warning snap or growl. But besides that he is a wonderful dog who clearly communicates when something doesn't suit him, informing the person about it. Pedro loves being petted, one problematic issue for him is handling his body with scissors or a brush, so he still needs some behavioral work at the animal shelter. We believe he will quickly master everything, as he is an extremely intelligent dog. We are looking for a new loving home with a large fenced yard for Pedro. A person who will show him what is appropriate and what is not and a home rather without small children. We recommend for adoption.

Pedro to dostojny dżentelmen w typie owczarka niemieckiego długowłosego. Polecamy do adopcji.

About Pedro

What life with Pedro looks like

Pedro is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Wesoly Kundelek in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pedro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pedro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wesoly Kundelek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pedro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pedro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wesoly Kundelek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pedro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pedro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wesoly Kundelek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pedro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
