Peggy Sue & Racoon

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 10 months

Adoption requirements adoption process Request this animal now! Adoption requirements adoption process Request this cat now! Peggy Sue and Racoon are siblings and a wonderful well-coordinated team. The two were left in the forest at about six weeks old - alone, in the cold and without protection. They were found, but could initially only be accommodated under very simple conditions and lived for about three months in a basement without daylight. Despite this difficult start, they have developed into two cheerful, lively young cats. Today they show how much joie de vivre and trust is in them. Peggy Sue is the bolder of the two. She is curious, fearless and explores her environment with great joy. She loves to play, enjoys sunny spots especially and has a light, cheerful energy. Racoon is initially somewhat reserved, but strongly oriented towards his sister. Through Peggy Sue he quickly gains confidence and dares to explore new situations. Once he has gained confidence, he shows his loving, playful character and enjoys closeness as well as cozy retreats and soft blankets. Both are very social, get along well with other cats and are open and interested even towards dogs. In their current foster home, they have already had initial experiences with a dog and react curiously and calmly. Peggy Sue and Racoon will only be rehomed together, as they strongly rely on each other and provide each other with security. Outdoor access is not an option for them. They wish a loving home suitable for apartment living, where they can arrive together. Peggy Sue and Racoon are already fully cared for. They are vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Their EU pet passports come with them, of course. After a positive assessment, those who give Peggy Sue and Racoon a home will receive two young, cheerful cats that complement each other perfectly - bold and cautious, playful and sensitive - and prefer to share their happiness with each other and their humans. A heartfelt thanks to godmother Martha, who gave Peggy Sue her name, as well as to godmother Ulli, who gave Racoon his name and thus significantly supported both on their way to a new home. Status: 13.05.

About Peggy Sue & Racoon

What life with Peggy Sue & Racoon looks like

Peggy Sue & Racoon is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Peggy Sue & Racoon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Peggy Sue & Racoon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Peggy Sue & Racoon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Peggy Sue & Racoon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Peggy Sue & Racoon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Peggy Sue & Racoon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Peggy Sue & Racoon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
