adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Our Pelle has found a home! His story: For someone who wants a truly loyal and lovable companion by their side, they've found it with Pelle. Pelle is very clingy, friendly, and attentive to their human. He's also the ideal companion for home office work, as he likes to chill by their side. Nature walks also bring him great joy, which are the most beautiful moments of the day for him. Pelle is also a good car companion, as long as he's along for the ride. At the shopping center, he wags his tail around and has no fear of chaos or small children. Pelle is also friendly and compatible with other dogs. Currently, he lives with several other dogs in his foster home, playing together and being very careful and patient. Only during dog encounters on the leash does he sometimes bark at other dogs, which needs to be practiced with him. Cats and small pets should not be in his new home due to his hunting instinct. In his foster family, he is very attuned to his humans and enjoys extensive cuddle sessions. Pelle naturally possesses everything one could wish for in a dog: at about 49 cm tall, he is neither too big nor too small, with a slim, athletic build at 17.5 kg, and at around 7 years old, he is in the prime of his life, ready for new adventures! On the right front, Pelle had a misalignment, "radius curvus with shortened ulna." In an operation, his leg was straightened because a small, already existing arthritis would have worsened more quickly otherwise. The rehabilitation phase, including physiotherapy, he has already completed successfully. Now he enjoys his walks even more. We are looking for a loving, dog-experienced, ground-floor home with a garden, rural or suburban, without cats and small pets, that will offer Pelle the world. Pelle has had little good in his life so far, and now it's time to explore the world. He wants to learn so much more and wishes for people who will take him by the paw and lead him into his new life. A positive training style is an absolute requirement. Our Pelle comes neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated into his home. He brings his EU pet passport with him and can be adopted after a positive match. Who will give our Pelle the home he so deserves? Many thanks to Iris I., who gave Pelle his name. A big thank you also goes to www.pfotenmomente.de for the great pictures of Pelle. As of: 03.10.

Stand: 03.10.2024

About Pelle

What life with Pelle looks like

Pelle is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pelle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pelle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pelle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pelle if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pelle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pelle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pelle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
